Evolution of Women in Buddhism
Bodhi Manda Zen Center
Jemez Springs, NM
October 21-25, 2024
The Evolution of Women in Buddhism is a five-day seminar deeply examining the tradition of women in Buddhism. Our goal is to empower our students to envision the future of women in Buddhism. The seminar will be led by women dharma leaders from varied Buddhist traditions. Each dharma teacher will give a presentation or dharma talk and lead discussion groups. The daily schedule will also include morning meditation, silent breakfast, yoga, qi gong, hot spring soaks, and vegetarian meals. The Bodhi Manda Zen Center is situated in the gorgeous Jemez Valley in Northern New Mexico. Please join us for this remarkable experience! Men and women are welcome to attend.
The fee for attendees is $500 for the entire seminar or $100 per day for each day attended. The fee covers the seminar, meals, and lodging. The seminar begins on Monday morning October 21 and ends Friday afternoon October 25. Travel days are October 20 and October 26. A limited number of scholarships is available; please inquire with the Bodhi office for more information. For those unable to attend, each talk will be presented and recorded by Zoom for later viewing.
This seminar was made possible by a generous grant from the Frederick P. Lenz Foundation for American Buddhism. Dr. Frederick Lenz emphasized that the empowerment of women is the key to creating an enlightened American society. The Bodhi is deeply grateful to the Lenz Foundation for their support.
