Speaker Biographies

Jiun Hosen, Osho

Jiun Hosen, Osho, began her formal training with Zen Master Joshu Sasaki Roshi in 1979 and has been in residence at the Bodhi Manda Zen Center since 1980. She was ordained as a Zen nun in April 1983. Hosen’s devotion to practice led her to become a Zen Priest or “Osho” formally recognized in a “Suijishiki” Ceremony at the Rinzai-ji Zen Center in Los Angeles, California on July 21, 1988. The following year Jiun Hosen was first appointed as Abbess to the Bodhi Manda Zen Center, and carried on her work as Abbess and Director. The Board of Trustees reaffirmed her position of Abbess and Director of the Bodhi on April 10th, 2015. She is the mother of twin sons.

Along with her primary focus of manifesting and teaching the practice of her own Buddhist tradition, she has opened the Bodhi to hosting retreats for sincere seekers, students and groups from many diverse paths, which has endeared her to the hearts of many. In 2025, Hosen will celebrate her 45th year at the Bodhi Manda as its Abbess, guardian, and spiritual teacher.

Elaine Hausman

Elaine Hausman first travelled to see Sathya Sai Baba in 1980, where he wholly inspired and changed her life. She has been an office bearer in the Sri Sathya Sai International Organization (SSSIO) since 1982. She currently serves as the Southwest Region 9 President for the SSSIO, which includes New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Arizona.

Since then, the Bodhi has been a spiritual home for the Sai Baba retreats, with members meeting there annually on Labor Day weekends for 41 years. She is honored to now serve as a member of the Bodhi Board of Directors and as Treasurer of the Bodhi Manda Zen Center Board.

As a longtime supporter of arts for young people, Elaine was a founding director of the Santa Fe Youth Symphony in 1994 and worked in that organization for 10 years. Elaine then served as Treasurer and then Executive Director of Moving People Dance Santa Fe from 2004 through 2009.

She is currently a member of the Board of Directors and Treasurer of Moving Arts Española, which offers fine arts instruction and life inspiration to youth in one of the most under-served counties in New Mexico.

Elaine and her husband Rob Hausman reside in Cerrillos, NM.

Jan Di Santi

Jan DiSanti is a life-long educator whose spiritual journey was forever transformed in 2009 when a fourth-grade student introduced her to Sathya Sai Baba. Raised in the Christian tradition, Jan’s spiritual path has expanded into a deep belief in the Unity of Faiths, embracing the truth that God is Love. Drawn by a divine calling, she joined the 2010 USA Pilgrimage to Puttaparthi with the intention of visiting His schools. Sai Baba not only blessed her with that opportunity but personally instructed her to receive training in Human Values Education. Upon returning to the United States, Jan immersed herself in Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) training, began teaching at the Sathya Sai Baba Center of Southeast Denver, and completed Courses One and Two in Sathya Sai Education in Human Values (SSEHV) through the Institute of Sathya Sai Education–USA (ISSE-USA). She applied this transformative approach in her own fourth-grade classroom, witnessing the profound impact of Human Values on her students. Since 2018, Jan has served as Faculty for ISSE-USA and as the Region 9 Representative for Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. She is also President of the Sathya Sai Baba Center of Southeast Denver and currently serves as Region 9 Devotion Coordinator and Women’s Peer Enrichment Group Lead, offering her heartfelt service with deep love and gratitude. Jan has been transformed spiritually by attending the annual Jemez Retreat at Bodhi Manda Zen Center since 2015, deepening her practice of mindfulness, interfaith understanding, and inner peace. Beyond her work in the Sai mission, Jan has joyfully served since 2018 as Secretary on the Moving Arts of Española School Board of Directors in New Mexico. She is also CEO and founder of PADO EduCare, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering community service and education in Universal Human Values. Guided by her mission “to light up this world with Passion, Purpose, and Presence as a force for good”, Jan continues to inspire, empower, and uplift all those she serves.
